ತಿರುವನಂತಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ನಾಯಕರ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ವೀಕ್ಷಕರಾದ ಪ್ರಹ್ಲಾದ್ ಜೋಶಿ ಅವರು ರಾಜೀವ್ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದರು. ರಾಜೀವ್ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್ ಅವರೊಬ್ಬರೇ ಭಾನುವಾರ ನಾಮಪತ್ರ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದು ಅವರ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸೋಮವಾರ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಅನಂತರ ಅವರು ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಘಟಕದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
