Bhopal: At least eight people were killed and more than 25 workers injured in a horrific road accident in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, late Monday night.
The accident occurred around 12 am near Chinka on National Highway-79, when a truck travelling in the opposite direction collided with a loading vehicle carrying workers. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, leaving several workers trapped inside.
Following the accident, police, local residents and other motorists rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. The trapped workers were pulled out and the injured were shifted to several hospitals, including the Trauma Centre of Jaya Arogya Hospital in Gwalior.

Police said the condition of some of the injured was critical, while others were reported to be stable. The identities of some of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the collision and establish whether negligence or other factors contributed to the accident.
